In 1999, Hai Kang Life Corporation Limited (HKLife) founded the first commercial molecular testing laboratory and molecular diagnostics production line in Hong Kong.

Our articles and reviews are published in Science Citation Index (SCI) core periodicals, such like Science, New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Nature Biotechnology, etc. In addition, we were also awarded the Hong Kong Industry Prize and Frost Sullivan In Vitro Diagnostic Differentiation Excellence Prize.

We have successfully attracted many international organizations (such as WHO) to share our knowledge and experience to the world.

HKLife expands the avian influenza rapid testing system to testing platform and applies it to the detection of other diseases such as the early tests of swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease, Newcastle disease, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus. At the same time, HKLife provides the strong weapons for the early diagnosis of these diseases. This technology platform strongly enhances the vulnerable spots in plague prevention, which causes the high attention of international society and academic world. Many academic publications like Nature etc. have conducted the exclusive interview on it.

HKLife was invited to participate in diagnosis seminar held by international organizations :

In February of 2007, HKLife attended the ”People’s Avian Influenza Virus (H5N1) Diagnosis Seminar” co-held by WHO, ISIRV and FIND as representative under invitation—sharing avian influenza diagnosis experience. This conference was held in WHO’s headquarter in Geneva from Feb.19th, 2007 to Feb 20th, 2007.

HKlife has passed the most stringent and demanding registration

Animal virus testing products have acquired the recognition of JMAFF—the recognition organization with the most stringent and demanding approval and highest passing difficulty recognized internationally. In 2005, our avian influenza virus testing product passed the recognition of JMAFF and became the first bio-product in Asia registered in Japan.

HKLife established many national standards

Facing the urgent difficulty in the plague-prevention steps of serious infectious diseases, the research team of HKLife has developed the avian influenza rapid testing system based on NASBA technology by many years of technological accumulation and research experience. The NASBA rapid testing system is applicable in the supervision of plague frontline, which fills the empty of early infectious diseases’ supervision area. This system is popularized and applied in many countries and regions of South Africa, East Europe, Middle East, Japan, Southeast Asia, Macao etc.

Self-developed products acquired many patented technologies for many countries

The company has acquired more than 100 patents from many countries (Europe,South Korea,Vietnam,Australia,Singapore,New Zealand,South Africa,Hong Kong,China etc.), including 39 patents related with animal products, 17 patents related with clinical products, 2 patents related with food products, 77 patents related with gene chip and dozens of patents related with product testing technologies.

Avian influenza diagnosis:

a whole set of tools used in testing the pathogenic or non- pathogenic influenza A sub-type H5 virus and a whole set of tools used in testing the pathogenic or non- pathogenic influenza A sub-type H6, H7 or H9 virus

World Health Organization:The project team uses the rapid accounting-template isothermal amplification technology (NASBA) to develop the avian influenza rapid molecular testing system, which is the early molecular testing method for many diseases such as avian influenza etc.

Hong Kong Government's Agriculture and Fisheries Department:In regard of the testing technology of high-pathogenic avian influenza H5 sub-type by the usage of NASBA rapid testing system, we published articles in Journal of Virological Methods.

Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Division:In 2003, we cooperated with Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Division.

Harbin Veterinary Research Institute:In 2007, we cooperated with Harbin Veterinary Research Institute. In regard of the test of all pathogenic NDV strain by NASBA method, we published articles in biologicals.
